    Cloud storage provides a cost-effective storage solution, especially for infrequently accessed data, such as archived data - which was reported as a common use for cloud storage of mainframe data.
    Simplicity

    Simplicity was the most commonly selected reason for using cloud storage. A key selling point for cloud storage is that management and operation can be offloaded to the cloud service provider.
    Company Direction

    Many organizations have internal initiatives to increase cloud usage. This was well represented in this survey, with 48% of respondents claiming that cloud was being used due to an overall company direction.
